The European Society of Microscope Dentistry is an International Association for Restorative Microdentistry, Periodontal Microsurgery, Microendodontics, Microprosthodontics, Implant Microsurgery and Associated Disciplines.

The Association unites dental practitioners who aspire to apply the latest, accurate and effective dental techniques. Today the operational microscope application is not mainstream in general dentistry yet. ESMD creates an advisory network for dentists of all fields, professionals in associated disciplines and patients, seeking information on the proper treatment.

Open communication and exchange with colleagues and manufactures are the core values in our striving to see Microscope dentistry evolve from exception towards routine.

Microscope dentistry relies on good vision, so "To See or Not to See" was the theme of our 2008 Amterdam meeting. Convincing the profession of the values of magnification is based on the facts at first sight and hence we said: "Seeing is Believing" at the 2010 Vilnius congress. In 2012 Berlin we go one step beyond and show that microscope dentistry means 'Open Eyes, Open Minds' reveiling new treatment options.  

ESMD invites all dental professionals working with or intending to start working with a dental operating microscope to discover and share the advantages, limitations, opportunities and joys of Microscope dentistry.
